Grooming Pricing

Concierge Grooming: Our groomer comes to you and picks up your dog, then grooms him or her in our custom WagNTails van.

Dog Haircuts

Haircut pricing is as follows:

  • Less than 10 pounds: $120
  • Less than 25 pounds: $125
  • Less than 40 pounds: $130
  • Less than 65 pounds: $140*
  • Less than 80 pounds: $175**
  • Greater than 80 pounds: $240***
  • Small doodles (49 pounds or less) are $175 for a haircut, $150 for a bath and brush out
  • Large doodles (50 pounds or more) are $225 for a haircut, $175 for a bath and brush out.*
  • Cocker Spaniels are $165 for a haircut, $140 for a bath and brush.

*After the initial visit, the groomer may require that subsequent visits include a second groomer to help manage the pet. The fee for this is $30.

**We automatically send a second groomer on the initial visit. Therefore, the first visit is $205. Often the second groomer is not required on subsequent visits.

***A second groomer is always included for dogs in this weight category. Dogs in this category are groomed on a case-by-case basis due to the limited space inside of our grooming vans. The initial grooming appointment is more of a meet & greet so an assessment can be made. This assessment is $25.

Bath & Brush prices are typically $15 dollars less than haircut pricing.

De-Matting and Shave-Downs: This is slow work that requires concentration and skill. The fee for this work is $2 per minute.

De-Shed Treatments can be added for $20.  This really helps reduce the volume of hair you’ll be cleaning up from your floors, chairs and sofas.

Temporary “tattoo” or hair coloring can be added for $15. Our groomers can give your baby a pop of color! This coloring typically lasts anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on the color and your baby’s fur. While we can apply coloring to any color coat, white or lighter colors take it the best.

Nail Polish can be added for $10. You can pick from an array of colors for our groomers to add to your baby’s nails.

Paw Pad Treatment can be added for $11. Are your pet’s paw pads rough, cracked and damaged? While our light and full groom packages include grinding the nails and trimming the hair around the paws, we can go one step further with this add-on! The groomer will apply an oatmeal/vitamin/moisturizer and massage that in to renew and recondition the paw pads.

Cat Grooming

We do groom cats and offer the following services:

  • Lion Cut – Less than 15 pounds: $135
  • Lion Cut – Greater than 15 pounds: $150
  • Bath – Less than 15 Pounds: $115
  • Bath & Brush – Greater than 15 pounds: $125

In-Home Grooming

For in-home grooming, there is an additional fee of 50% of the groom.

Fuel & Mileage Fee

The vans are large and gobble up considerable amounts of oil & gas.  To partially offset this cost which varies based on the commute distance to your location, there is a fuel & mileage charge that is calculated per zip code. The charge ranges from $3 to $15.

*There is a $25 fee for any current client that is now outside of our service area.

Holiday Fee

Our grooming schedules run 7 days a week and practically 365 days a year. A $20 per appointment holiday fee will be applied when we are asking groomers to work on the below holidays:

  • New Years Day – January 1st
  • Memorial Day – May 30th
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day – September 5th
  • Thanksgiving – November 24th & our grooming services are closed on the 25th
  • Christmas Eve & Day – Our grooming services are closed

Policies

Payment Policy

Payment Terms: Payment is due within 24 hours of your grooming appointment.

Payment methods accepted: Our preferred payment methods are Zelle, check, and cash (in that order). We do accept credit cards as a method of payment but starting in January 2022 we will be adding a 3% fee when a credit or debit card is used.

Payment guarantee for your appointment: Like a hotel, we require that a credit card be placed on file to guarantee payment for your appointment.   If the grooming invoice is still open after 24 hours, the charge will settle to the credit card on file without a gratuity for the groomer.

Matting Policy

With long-haired dogs, daily brushing is required to keep their hair in perfect condition. We understand that a minor amount of matting is normal especially in certain areas (i.e., belly and underarms). Our customers sometimes request or expect that the groomer can return a completely matted dog to his normal “flowy hair” condition. De-matting is excruciating for the dog even when the groomer does her gentle best. It can take as much as 2-4 hours to de-mat a dog when he or she is in this condition.

If de-matting is requested, the groomer will let you know if de-matting is even an option. Because of the additional time required, she will quote you an additional fee for this work. If the additional charges are not acceptable the only thing that can be done is to shave the dog as short as necessary to get underneath the mats and return the dog to an even, all-over length. With daily brushing, his or her hair will grow back more beautiful than ever.

Cancellation Policy

We know that life happens!  When you are able to give us 24 hours notice, we do not charge a cancellation fee.

If you give less than 24 hours notice and we are able to fill the appointment time, again there is no cancellation fee.

If the timing is so short that the van and the groomer are idled during your designated appointment time, there is a 30% cancellation fee which will be charged through to the card on file.

If we arrive at your home and are cancelled at the front door, the cancellation charge is 75%.

How We Do It

Our Grooming Products

Our groomers primarily use Tropiclean Coconut and Papaya all-in-one shampoo and conditioner. We use a special tear-free shampoo just to clean the face. Also, the vans carry hypoallergenic oatmeal shampoo if this is needed. Sometimes a customer will provide a specific product that must be used — this is fine and the groomer is happy to accommodate.

Our Salons

We have four WagNTails vans — they are all gorgeous, clean, and state-of-the-art full grooming salons that provide the groomer everything he or she would need in a brick and mortar salon. The vans are powered by generators and have full electrical outlets, warm water, powerful hairdryers, and all the shampoos and supplies a groomer could ever need.

In the event there is an issue with the generator (rare, but it has happened), there is a backup electrical cord that the groomer can plug into your porch or garage to keep the process moving.

Our Software

Because we started out as a pet sitting company, we use TimeToPet across all our service lines. It is the best-in-class software for pet sitters. Having one tool allows our customers to request the full spectrum of services online at any time and have all of this activity scheduled and paid for in one place.

Someday soon we may migrate to a more customized grooming software (Moego, we have our eye on you!), but for now, we are happy with the solution we’ve built using TimeToPet.
